“Say as you think and speak it from your souls.”
- Shakespeare

Lonely Concert

I scanned the crowds seraching for you
Impossible, silly, I knew it was true
I felt as if you were meeting me there
Another fantasy, but I didn't care
The sun was so hot, I felt trickles of sweat
Relief finally came when that hot sun set
Bright stars appeared, one by one
Like diamonds on velvet, the day was done
Loud music brought everyone to a stand
They danced and they sang and
clapped their hands
I couldn't help notice lovers all around me
My loneliness was heavy, it began to drown me
Rescue me, please, from this current so strong
Together forever is where we belong

Bethany's Metamorphosis

She seems so fragile
Struggling to burst free from her cocoon
Apprehensive, yet determined to spread her beautiful wings and take flight
Completely innocent of the dangers that
surround her
God, protect this lovely creature
Give her your wisdom, strength and your
perfect peace

Song Bird

Little bird you sing so sweetly
Your singing blesses all who hear
Make a joyful noise because
God gave you this precious gift to share
He uses music to touch many hearts
He's using you to do your part
His love binds us all in perfect harmony
So, sing little bird, my precious Bethany

Freedom

Blue butterfly
resting gently on a flower
drinking it's sweet nectar
Bring me freedom
to spread my wings
and take flight

Super Abby

It's fascinating, really
this power I possess
I just make a sound
and adults gather round
to see what I will do next!

Thumb's Up

It's always there when I need it
It can not be replaced
When I'm in need of some comfort
I have my little thumb for it
I just stuff it into my face!

Poetry

Writing phrases and feelings
it's like a treasure map
with a thick dotted line
leading to a big, black "X" mark
which is my soul

Lost Love

Another day passes without a word
It's the loudest silence I've never heard
Each night I wait, I hope, I pray
For your love to come my way
I ache for you, for us together
But now I fear, that will be never
The future will echo history
My love, you are, and will always be

Abby's Woobie

Some kids need a binky
or else they get all moody
Some need a fuzzy animal,
not me, I need my Woobie.
I have it when I sleep
It goes all where I go
I even wear it as a cape,
I'm super girl, you know
I love the look, the feel, the smell
The satin trim, it suits me well
Yes, me, I need my Woobie.

Butternut Eve

The warmth of the campfire caresses us

Cool raindrops plop down from heavy laden branches above

Dancing yellow-orange flames crackle and burn gracefully

Billowy smoke rises to kiss departing clouds

good-bye

Secrets

Secrets slither in the darkness
like the serpent
waiting to rob, kill and destroy
When we least expect it
they pounce!
Secrets make minds confused
and hearts weep
Secrets don't stay secret forever

Prisoner

I want to reveal my heart
and soul through art
But sometimes I feel as if
I'm locked inside myself
and can't find the key

"Psalm 25"

You are the way, the truth, the light
That brightens even the darkest night
Show me the path, point out the road
Lead me, teach me, save my soul

Abby's First day

First cry, kiss, suckle, swaddle
First bath, diaper, clothing, bottle
First cards, flowers, gifts and guests,
First car ride, party, bassinette

Bethany's Plight

Learning to read and write
is confusing to say the least
This language of ours
just doesn't make sense
It's turning me into a beast!
There's to and two and too
There's for and four and fore
When to use which
and which to use when
I just can't take anymore!
